Memorial Day Ceremony Update

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Memorial Day Ceremony scheduled for May 30th at the NH State Veterans Cemetery is canceled.

Additionally, we will not utilize volunteers to place and retrieve flags at gravesites.  Our cemetery staff will put flags out the week before Memorial Day weekend and begin retrieving them on May 26th.

As a reminder, potted plants may be placed at gravesides beginning May 20th.  Pots must be non-breakable and no bigger than 10” in diameter.  Potted plants may be placed until May 31st, however we will need to move them beginning May 27th to conduct lawn maintenance.  We will try to keep them in place through May 31st, but it I possible a plant may be moved before that date.  We will place plants near the maintenance building if we are unable to get it back to the original location.   Plants left after May 31st may be planted in a cemetery garden.  Note: we are more likely to plant annuals. We must limit the number of perennials that are planted.

The cemetery remains open every day during daylight hours. We do ask that visitors maintain social distance and remain cognizant of others who may want to visit a nearby gravesite.
